Still Deciding
Still Deciding
Not every walk ends with certainty. Some end with something better — the feeling of being between one thing and the next.
This painting came from a walk where I didn't know what I was thinking about until I got home and started painting it. The beach has a way of doing that — holding you in a state of not-quite-knowing that feels, oddly, like rest.
Still Deciding lives in that in-between. The layered sky, the indistinct horizon, the way the colour refuses to settle into one thing. It's not unresolved — it's deliberately suspended, in the way that some of the most honest moments are.
This is a painting for people who find beauty in complexity. The soft vertical format works beautifully in narrower spaces — beside a doorway, in a hallway, at the end of a corridor. The muted palette brings quiet without coldness. It's a painting that makes you stop when you pass it.
I almost renamed this one three times. I kept coming back to Still Deciding because it's the most honest title I've ever given a painting. Some things aren't meant to resolve. They're just meant to be held.
