Joanna Srokol is a Polish visual artist and creative freelancer. A colour and brushmarks creative, she combines a love of painting, textile design, interiors and illustration to capture the elements of beauty found in everyday life across a range of mediums.
Joanna pursued her dreams of moving from Poland to Scotland to follow her passion for textiles. She graduated from Heriot-Watt University with first class honours. She then continued her creative affair at Edinburgh College of Art. Her Masters' collection: Lines, Landscapes & Crossovers, was critically acclaimed and awarded the New Designers with Sandersons Colour Award. Since then Joanna creates original works of art, hand dyed and screen printed fabrics and commissioned paintings. She also works closely with interior design companies and designers. Incorporating her work into the design of boutique hotels and luxury homes.
Her work is inspired by beauty and uniqueness of Polish and Scottish landscapes. It is driven by a dynamic colour, expressive mark making. Echoing intensity of texture of natural patterns found between sea, glens and sky… crafting abstract.
